Scout camp Furuneset

You get to Fureneset scoutcamp from the Stavanger-aera. You can choose between two ferries, one from Lauvik in Sandnes to Oanes, the other one from the center of Stavanger to Tau. From the ferry you drive to the center of Jørpeland, and turn by the sign "Fureneset". You drive all the way to the end of this road, about 6 km. There you park and walk across a narrow bridge to come to the campsite.

The place has been an old farm and the scouts bought it around 1987. We are still building/modernizing the four buildings, but three of them are in use. There is the main house which has equipment for 30 people, the barn which is possible to use for gatherings and food-storage and two small cottages. One is finished and is equipped for  8 people while the second one is still not finished. At the campsite there can be up to 800-900 people in tents.

All the houses has electricity and water. When you stay in tents you can use the bathrooms in the basement of the main house. Around Fureneset you find hills and lakes and lots of oportunities to go hiking. The higest mountain is "Heiahorn" which is 774 mtr's high. We have made a badge you can buy if you reach the top. Among activities we can mention swimming in the lakes, playing football and volleyball or sit by the fireplace. There are three places to make campfires.
